Revision Project 3

For my revision process for project 3, I decided to write a little more on a word document so that I had more options for what I wanted to speak about. I wanted to make sure I had enough evidence to show how misogyny within the music industry, specifically the song I selected, is an “invisible” risk sort of like how Kuchinskya viewed nuclear drop-off.  I decided that I wanted to connect my piece to Kuchinskya after originally wanting to do Beck. I think that the “invisibility” of the risk of misogynistic songs really connected well to this document. People are not explained to that these lyrics seriously can influence young kids in the way that they act towards females and how females feel about themselves and what they are capable of. Just like in Kuchinskya stating that we need to understand risks from those who are knowledgeable, people in the music industry should make aware that these lyrics are having harmful and counteractive effects in the way women are viewed.  I think that for my next revision I will have to limit what I write and take a swifter approach to how I want to deliver what I want to get across. The values lesson from the guest professor really opened my eyes to how important reaching the values of the audience can influence how they view it. If you attach an idea with a value, you can be more effective in your approach, because it allows for people to feel an emotional connection to the topic. I think that it is important for this connection to not only have the audience to connect to the topic but connect with the presenter because then there is a shared set of values in place.
